CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson’s Silvia Jelelgo was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Performer of the Week, alongside California’s Justin Pretre, who earned the men’s honor. Georgia Tech’s Caitlin Thomas was named the ACC Women’s Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, while Louisville’s Elsingi Kipruto was tabbed the ACC Men’s Freshman of the Week.
 
Men’s Performer of the Week – Justin Pretre, Senior, California (Woodside, California)

• Won his second consecutive race so far this season, finishing first among 214 runners in the men’s 8K.
• Pretre ran a personal best of 23:14.3 at the Kim Duyst Invitational this past Saturday, beating his former career best, set at the 2024 ACC Championship, by 30 seconds.

Men’s Freshman of the Week – Elsingi Kipruto, Freshman, Louisville (Mosoriot, Kenya)

• Made his collegiate debut at the Southern Showcase, placing fourth overall among over 450 athletes.
• Kipruto achieved the eighth-fastest time in program history, finishing the 8K course in 23:25.5.
• His achievement helped lead the Louisville men to a fifth-place overall finish.

Women’s Performer of the Week – Silvia Jelelgo, Sophomore, Clemson (Bomet, Kenya)

• Finished first overall in the women’s four-mile, clocking in at 21:03.3, 47 seconds faster than the second-place runner.
• Jelelgo’s achievement earned a point for the Tigers, leading them to victory at the Furman Invitational.

Women’s Freshman of the Week – Caitlin Thomas, Freshman, Georgia Tech (Hastings, New York)

• Shattered her previous time from her first career meet by 23 seconds, putting up a sub-17-minute 5K time at 16:57.9.
• Finished tenth among 480 runners at the Southern Showcase and led her team to a fourth overall finish.
