This Week in ACC Field Hockey

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Eight of the nine Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey matches this week will include at least one ranked team, including in each of the six conference games.

Fans will have the opportunity to catch field hockey on ACC Network twice this weekend. The action begins on Friday, September 26, when No. 7 Duke travels to No. 6 Syracuse for a 6 p.m. ET showdown. On Sunday, September 28, No. 2 North Carolina will meet Boston College in Newton, Massachusetts, at noon ET for the second of two televised matchups.

In addition to the top-10 showdown between Duke and Syracuse on Friday, ACC teams also square off in two other ranked contests throughout the fifth week of the season. North Carolina will meet No. 13 Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for a conference clash at 5 p.m. ET on Friday with the match streaming on ACCNX. On Sunday, the Orange will host No. 20 Penn State in a non-conference showdown, beginning at noon ET on ACCNX.

Noting ACC Field Hockey

Four ACC teams began the conference slate with a 2-0 record.
Louisville opens ACC play this weekend at Stanford and California.
Six teams are represented in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches’ Poll, including four teams ranked in the top 10.
Louisville is ranked in the NFHCA Poll for the first time since October 2024. The Cardinals have appeared in the NFHCA poll in every season since 2013.
Wake Forest is 2-0 in ACC play for the first time since 2017.
In the initial RPI rankings for 2025, all nine ACC teams rank in the top 27 nationally.
As a league, the ACC boasts the top overall and non-conference RPI.
