ACC Announces Women's Tennis Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - SMU swept the eighth set of weekly honors for the 2025-26 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis season, as the Mustangs’ duo of Caroline McGinley and Amalie Van Impe was named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week, and McGinley and Van Impe were named the ACC Player and ACC Freshman of the Week, respectively.

ACC WOMEN’S DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK
Caroline McGinley, SMU, Jr. (Essex Fells, New Jersey)
Amelie Van Impe, SMU, Fr. (Wichlen, Belgium)

  • Won two doubles matches on the weekend to help lead SMU to wins over Boston College and Syracuse.
    • Defeated the Syracuse duo of No. 57 Anastasia Sysoeva and Nelly Knezkova, 6-2.
    • Defeated the Boston College duo of Natalie Eordekian and Seren Agar, 7-6 (3).

ACC WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Caroline McGinley, SMU, Jr. (Essex Fells, New Jersey)

  • Clinched both matches for the Mustangs this weekend, improving to 21-2 across doubles and singles.
    • Defeated Boston College’s Eordekian, 6-2, 6-3.
    • Defeated Syracuse’s Knezkova, 6-4, 7-5.

ACC WOMEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Amelie Van Impe, SMU, Fr. (Wichlen, Belgium)

  • Has won five-straight matches to improve to a combined 16-1 in doubles and singles.
  • Defeated Boston College’s Agar, 6-1, 6-0.
  • Teamed up with McGinley to record her fourth ranked doubles win against Syracuse.
