CARLSBAD, Calif. (theACC.com) – Stanford and Duke finished in the top eight of the final team standings at the 2026 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship, securing their spots in the match play quarterfinals set for Tuesday, May 26, at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
The Cardinal led the field to earn the top seed and will face eighth-seeded Pepperdine in the quarterfinals, while the Blue Devils secured the seventh seed and will take on second-seeded USC. No other conference has more than two teams in this year’s quarterfinal field.
Stanford, which won the ACC Championship and last week’s regional, pulled away from the field in the final round, as it finished 22-under-par for the four rounds, 13 shots ahead of second-place USC. Megha Ganne led the Cardinal with a runner-up finish, carding a 10-under-par 278 over four rounds. Stanford’s Meja Örtengren and Kelly Xu also finished in the top 20, tying for 14th at 2-under-par. The Cardinal have appeared in every match play quarterfinal since the format was instituted in 2015.
Duke, which returns to match play for the first time since 2021, was paced by ACC Freshman of the Year Rianne Malixi, who finished alone in third place at 9-under (279). Malixi was one of just 11 players in the fourth round to shoot under par, finishing at 2-under-par (69) in the decisive final round. The Blue Devils are seeking their eighth national championship and first since 2019.
The match play quarterfinals are scheduled for Tuesday beginning at 9:50 a.m. ET, with Golf Channel coverage beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The semifinals will also be played Tuesday and are scheduled to begin at approximately 4:15 p.m. ET, with coverage continuing at 6 p.m. ET.
