CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (theACC.com) - No. 9 Georgia Tech defeated No. 8 Notre Dame in run-rule fashion, 13-3, in five innings on Wednesday, May 6, in the first game of the 2026 Allstate ACC Softball Championship at Palmer Park in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The Yellow Jackets (30-27) will move on to the quarterfinals to take on top-seeded Florida State on Thursday, May 7, at 11 a.m. ET. The No. 8 versus No. 1 matchup will be broadcast on ACC Network.
Madalyn Johnson got the win on the mound for the Yellow Jackets, striking out six batters in 5.0 innings pitched. The Georgia Tech offense was headlined by Alyssa Willer, who hit her 15th home run of the season in the top of the fourth with a three-run homer, and Addison Leschber, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and five runs batted in.
