GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - The 2021 ACC women's lacrosse league schedule comes to an end this week. Six contests remain in conference action, including a pivotal two-game series with Boston College traveling to Syracuse. The teams are tied for second in the ACC with 7-1 records, just behind unbeaten North Carolina (8-0), which closes its league schedule Friday at Duke.
The Thursday BC-Syracuse game will air at 6 p.m. on ESPNU. UNC, BC, and Syracuse have clinched the top three seeds for the upcoming ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship heading into the final weekend of play. UNC can clinch the regular-season title with a win Friday. BC or Syracuse could earn the regular-season crown by sweeping the two-game series this weekend, combined with a UNC loss.
None of the eight tournament seeds are finalized, with play this weekend determining the final seeds. Virginia Tech heads to Notre Dame at noon Wednesday in a rescheduled game. BC and Syracuse play the second game of their weekend series at Noon Saturday. Louisville visits Notre Dame at 1 p.m. Saturday and Virginia Tech travels to Virginia at 5 p.m. Saturday. All three games will stream online via ACC Network Extra.

• Seven ACC teams are ranked in the latest IWLCA poll, most of any league. UNC leads the IWLCA poll at No. 1 and is followed by Syracuse (3), Boston College (4), Notre Dame (5), Virginia (7), Duke (8) and Louisville (19).
• UNC is one of the five remaining unbeaten teams in Division I and leads the nation in wins with 14.
• ACC teams hold the top three spots and seven of the top 25 in the RPI: UNC (1), Syracuse (2), BC (3), ND (5), UVa (12), Duke (14), UofL (22), VT (33).
• The ACC leads all conferences with 26 student-athletes on the 2021 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, including at least one from each of the eight ACC programs. UNC tops all schools nationally with five players on the list.
• In Inside Lacrosse's Midseason All-America honors, ACC players took nine of the 13 First-Team spots. In all, 30 ACC players earned Midseason All-America status - most of any league.
• Syracuse's Meaghan Tyrrell earned ACC Player of the Week honors (22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists in three SU wins last week).
• UNC's Taylor Moreno was selected ACC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season (eight saves in two UNC wins over Virginia).
• BC's Hollie Schleicher was named the IWLCA National Co-Defensive Player of the Week (10 draw controls and three caused turnovers in two wins over ND).
• ACC teams have dominated in non-conference action, going 35-3 and more than doubling up their opponents on the scoreboard, 598-251.
• ACC teams have three of the nation's top 12 scoring offenses: BC (3rd, 17.5), UNC (7th, 16.6 gpg) and Syracuse (12th, 15.1).
• The ACC also has five of the nation's top five point scorers this year: UNC's Jamie Ortega (2nd, 80), Syracuse's Meaghan Tyrrell (3rd, 72), UNC's Katie Hoeg (5th, 70), Syracuse's Megan Carney (7th, 66) and BC's Charlotte North (8th, 65).
• UNC ranks first nationally in scoring defense (5.9 gpg) and scoring margin (+10.7). BC and Syracuse are tied for ninth nationally in scoring margin (+6.6).
• UNC senior Katie Hoeg owns an ACC-record 204 career assists, including 42 this season (second nationally in 2021). She is fourth in the ACC annals in career points (331), fourth most in league history and fourth among active Division I players.
• UNC senior Jamie Ortega boasts 323 points (fifth in ACC history). She has scored 244 career goals, which is fourth in ACC history and second among active NCAA players.
• BC senior Charlotte North owns 221 career goals, which is fifth most nationally among active players and sixth in ACC history.
• Ortega ranks second nationally in goals this season (61) and ninth in goals per game (4.36). BC's Charlotte North is fourth in goals (57) and third in goals per game (4.75).
• UNC goalie Taylor Moreno ranks first nationally in goals-against average (5.83) and second in save percentage (.584).
• ACC teams are playing a 10-game conference schedule this season, consisting of four games against single opponents, as well three sets of two-game series.
