This Week in ACC Field Hockey

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – With just two weekends remaining in the regular season, the field hockey action throughout the Atlantic Coast Conference is heating up. Wake Forest could clinch a share of the ACC regular-season championship this weekend with a win over No. 9 Duke. The Demon Deacons last won a share of the ACC regular-season title in 2006, while winning their last outright title in 2005. The Demon Deacons are tied for the nation’s longest winning streak at 13 games.

Boston College concludes its regular season this weekend with a pair of ACC contests. The Eagles will host No. 9 Syracuse on Friday, October 24, at 6 p.m. ET, before meeting Louisville on Sunday, October 26, at noon ET. Friday’s match between the Eagles and Orange will air on ACC Network.

Syracuse’s Bo van Kempen leads the ACC in scoring with 20 goals and 43 total points this season. Her teammate, Pati Strunk, has tallied a nation’s best 19 assists this season to help pave the way for the high-scoring Syracuse offense.

Throughout ACC play, a pair of Tar Heels, Charly Bruder and Ryleigh Heck, lead the league with seven goals apiece, while Wake Forest’s Mia Montag ranks first in conference play with seven assists. On Wednesday, October 22, Bruder was tabbed the NFHCA National Offensive Player of the Week after logging four goals and two assists last week.
