This Week in ACC Field Hockey

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.org) – All four field hockey matches throughout the Atlantic Coast Conference this weekend will have an influence on the 2025 ACC Field Hockey Championship, which will begin on Tuesday, November 4, in Louisville, Kentucky.

The final weekend of action begins on Thursday, October 30, with the annual meeting of Bay Area rivals California and Stanford. This year’s contest will have a direct impact on seeding at the 2025 ACC Field Hockey Championship as both teams enter the match at 2-5 in ACC play. The match will begin at 9 p.m. ET and will stream on ACCNX.

Last weekend, No. 6 Wake Forest claimed at least a share of the ACC regular-season championship, marking its first conference championship title since 2006. This weekend, the Demon Deacons can win their first outright conference championship since 2005 with a win over No. 4 Virginia. However, if the Cavaliers knock off the Demon Deacons, the two sides will be co-regular-season champions. The top-10 matchup will begin at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, October 31, and will be streamed on ACCNX.

North Carolina, which enters the week as the No. 1 team in the NFHCA poll, is still in contention for the ACC regular-season crown as well. The top-ranked Tar Heels will host No. 8 Duke on Friday at 6 p.m. ET (ACCNX) with title hopes still alive. If the Tar Heels beat the Blue Devils and Virginia defeats Wake Forest, the Tar Heels, Cavaliers and Demon Deacons will each be co-champions.

On Saturday, November 1, the ACC regular-season will draw to a close when Louisville hosts No. 9 Syracuse at noon ET (ACCNX). With a win on Saturday afternoon, the Cardinals will clinch a berth in the 2025 ACC Field Hockey Championship and return to action at Trager Stadium in Louisville on Tuesday, November 4.

The bracket for the 2025 ACC Field Hockey Championship will be announced following the conclusion of the match between Louisville and Syracuse on Saturday afternoon.
