ACC Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Louisville forward Rylie Wollerton was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week for field hockey, while Virginia goalkeeper Nilou Lempers was selected as the ACC Defensive Player of the Week for matches played between October 27-November 1.
 
Rylie Wollerton, Senior, Forward, Louisville (Gibsonia, Pennsylvania)
  • Scored a goal in the Cardinals’ 3-2 win over No. 9 Syracuse on Saturday, November 1.
  • Recorded her career-best 10th goal of the season to put Louisville up 2-0.  
  • Led an offensive attack leading to the eventual game-winning goal.
  • Helped the Cardinals secure a berth in the 2025 ACC Field Hockey Championship.
 
Nilou Lempers, Senior, Goalkeeper, Virginia (Amsterdam, Netherlands)
  • Recorded six saves in Virginia’s shutout win against No. 11 Maryland on Tuesday, October 28.
  • Made eight saves in the Cavaliers’ victory over No. 6 Wake Forest on Friday, October 3.
  • Notched her eighth shutout of the season against the Terrapins, including seven shutouts against ranked opponents.
  • Earned her third ACC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
 
Noting ACC Field Hockey
  • The 2025 ACC Field Hockey Championship will begin on Tuesday, November 4, in Louisville, Kentucky.
  • For the first time in ACC history, there was a three-way tie for the regular-season championship. North Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest all earned a share of the regular-season title.
  • North Carolina is ranked as the No. 1 team in the country in the NFHCA Coaches Poll.
  • Five ACC teams are ranked in the top 10 of the NFHCA poll. At least five teams from the ACC have been ranked in every poll this season.
