CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – As May approaches, the Atlantic Coast Conference rowing schedule ramps up this weekend, beginning Friday, April 25.
Headlining this weekend’s action is the Lake Wheeler Invitational, which kicks off Friday and features seven ACC teams, including co-hosts Duke and North Carolina. They will be joined by Boston College, Clemson, Miami, and Virginia among a total of 16 participating teams.
Also on Friday, SMU and Stanford will compete at the Longhorn Invite in Austin, Texas.
On Saturday, April 26, Syracuse will face off against Princeton, Tennessee, and Ohio State on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, New Jersey. Meanwhile, California heads to the Pacific Northwest to take on Washington, and Notre Dame will join Michigan State at the Dale England Cup, hosted by Indiana.
Six ACC teams appear in the latest Pocock CRCA Poll: Stanford (No. 2), California (No. 9), Syracuse (No. 10), Virginia (No. 12), Duke (No. 18), and North Carolina (No. 24).

ACC Notes
- Six ACC teams earned spots in the Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Coaches Poll, released on April 22, as Stanford and California continue to lead the way at No. 2 and No. 9, respectively. Syracuse is No. 10, Virginia is No. 12, Duke is No. 18 and North Carolina is No. 24.
- Registering three straight second-place finishes at the highly competitive Big Ten Invite, the Duke Second Varsity Four has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week on Tuesday, April 22. As a team, Duke has won two weekly honors this season after the Varsity Four won on April 8.
- The ACC announced its second annual Rowing Watch List on February 26, consisting of one student-athlete from each ACC school. Notre Dame’s Natalie Hoefer became the conference’s first-ever two-time Watch List honoree.
- A total of 29 ACC student-athletes were named to the For Stars Network Spring Watch List, the most of any conference.
- A total of 10 ACC student-athletes were named to the For Stars Network “Top Rowers in College Rowing” list. Nine landed on the Honorable Mention list, while three ACC rowers were named “Clutch Contenders.”
- Last season, Syracuse claimed its first-ever ACC Rowing title winning the tiebreak over Virginia with its conference-record Varsity Eight win. The title snapped UVA’s run of 13 straight ACC titles, as the Orange became just the third different program to win the ACC crown.
- After two years at Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, North Carolina, the 2025 ACC Rowing Championship returns to Lake Hartwell in Clemson, South Carolina for the 20th time. The two-day event will run from May 16-17.
