ACC Announces Women's Tennis Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - In the fourth set of weekly honors for the 2025-26 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis season, the Duke duo of Liv Hovde and Shavit Kimchi was named the ACC Women’s Doubles Team of the Week, while North Carolina’s Tatum Evans was named the ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. Additionally, Notre Dame’s Jessica Kovalcik was named the ACC Women’s Freshman of the Week.
 
ACC WOMEN’S DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK
Liv Hovde, Duke, So. (Daniel Island, South Carolina)
Shavit Kimchi, Duke, Jr. (Shavit Kimchi)
  • Won two doubles matches against ranked opponents in a team win over Illinois and a setback to No. 10 Ohio State.
    • Defeated No. 13 Hephzibah Oluwarde and Teah Chavez of Ohio State, 7-6 (7-2).
    • Defeated No. 59 Tess Bucher and Alice Xu of Illinois, 7-6 (7-3).
 
ACC WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tatum Evans, North Carolina, Jr. (McLean, Virginia)
  • Defeated Ohio State’s No. 52 Nao Nishino, 6-4, 6-3.
  • Defeated No. 6 Oklahoma’s Edda Mamedova, 6-2, 6-3.
  • Defeated Ariel Madatali of Illinois, 6-3, 6-1.
  • Teamed with Anna Frey to defeat the Illinois duo Cara Mester and Ariel Madateli, 6-1.
  • Helped defeat the Oklahoma duo of Jula Garcia Ruiz and Salakthip Ounmang, 7-5.
 
ACC WOMEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Jessica Kovalcik, Notre Dame, Fr. (Plainfield, Illinois)
  • Helped lead the Fighting Irish to two team wins over Purdue and UIC with two singles wins.
    • Defeated Emmi Kolyszoko of Purdue, 6-0, 7-5.
    • Defeated Anais Brion of UIC, 6-0, 6-1.
