This Week in ACC Rowing

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – A total of 11 Atlantic Coast Conference teams return to the water beginning Friday, April 17, and concluding Saturday, April 19.

Friday kicks off the Orlando Invite, which will feature four ACC teams making the trek to Lake Pickett in Orlando, Florida. Also on Thursday, Louisville heads to Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, for the SIRA Regatta.

Saturday, April 18, begins a bevy of events for ACC schools, headlined by California, Notre Dame and Stanford visiting the Big Ten Invitational on Lake Natoma in Sacramento, California. A total of 19 teams will be competing in this year’s event.

ACC Notes
  • A nation-best seven ACC teams earned spots in the latest Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Coaches Poll, released on April 14, led by defending national champion Stanford at No. 1. Following the Cardinal were No. 8 Virginia, No. 9 California, No. 10 Syracuse, No. 14 Duke, No. 15 Miami and No. 21 North Carolina.
  • After earning a pair of victories at the Ivy Invitational last Saturday, the Virginia Varsity Four was been named the ACC Crew of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
  • The ACC announced its second annual Rowing Watch List on February 25, consisting of one student-athlete from each ACC school. Duke’s Lena Mills became the second rower in league history to make the Preseason Watch List twice.
  • Last season, in its first ACC Rowing Championship, Stanford took home the conference title, setting Grand Final record times in each event. The Cardinal went on to claim the league’s third rowing national championship all-time.
  • The 2026 ACC Rowing Championship, set for May 15-16, returns to Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, North Carolina, for the third time in four years.
