CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (theACC.com) - No. 1 seed Florida State defeated No. 9 seed Georgia Tech, 2-1, on Thursday, May 7, to advance to the semifinals of the 2026 Allstate ACC Softball Championship at Palmer Park in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The top-seed Seminoles (47-8) will take the field on Friday, May 8, at 1 p.m. ET. They will face the winner of No. 4 seed Stanford and No. 5 seed Louisville on ACC Network.
Georgia Tech’s Holly Medina drove in Raegan Wall with a sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to record the first run of the game and put the visitors in front 1-0 early. In the bottom of the third, Florida State’s Anna Hinde answered with a single down the right-field line to score Isa Torres from second base, tying up the game, 1-1.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth, Florida State’s Bella Ruggerio was hit by a pitch to record an RBI as Jaysoni Beachum advanced home from third base, what would prove to be the game-winning run.
