CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The second week of conference play in Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer begins Thursday, September 17, with seven league contests on the schedule.
Thursday’s slate is headlined by a top-10 matchup when No. 2 Duke travels to No. 7 North Carolina, rekindling the programs’ historic rivalry. The Blue Devils are coming off an impressive 5-0 victory over then top-ranked Stanford, while the Tar Heels have won four straight since returning from Ireland, outscoring their opponents 11-1 in the stretch. Kickoff from Dorrance Field is set for 8 p.m. ET on ACC Network. Before the in-state showdown, ACCN will also feature SMU at NC State at 6 p.m. ET.
On Sunday, September 20, another top-10 matchup awaits when No. 3 Wake Forest travels to the West Coast to face No. 6 Stanford. The Demon Deacons are a perfect 8-0 on the season, outscoring their opponents 16-1 for the year, while the Cardinal suffered their first setback since the 2025 national championship match last week. Kickoff on ACC Network Extra is slated for 4 p.m. ET.
Five ACC teams remain unbeaten on the season: Boston College (8-0), Wake Forest (8-0), Duke (6-0-1), Notre Dame (3-0-5) and NC State (7-0-2).

Noting ACC Women’s Soccer
• The 40th season of ACC Women's Soccer got underway on Wednesday, August 12.
• The ACC has seven teams in the latest IWSOC/United Soccer Coaches Poll, the most in the nation.
• The poll includes No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Wake Forest, No. 6 Stanford, No. 7 North Carolina, No. 13 Virginia, No. 17 Virginia and No. 21 Florida State. Clemson and Virginia Tech are receiving votes.
• Duke forward Katie Shea Collins was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, while Blue Devil senior Cameron Roller was selected as the ACC Defensive Player of the Week. Duke’s Molly Vapensky and Wake Forest’s Valentina Amaral were named the ACC Co-Goalkeepers of the Week, while Miami striker Vivien Muchuruza was named the ACC Freshman of the Week for matches played September 7–13.
• Duke's Katie Shea Collins was named the TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week on Tuesday, September 15. She is the second ACC player this season to earn the award this season, joining Wake Forest's Dempsey Brown on August 18.
• In addition to Collins, North Carolina's Izzi Stratton and Boston College's Sophie Reale were named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week.
• ACC teams have combined for 83 non-conference wins and a .796 winning percentage. Both marks lead the country.
• The 2026 Preseason ACC Coaches Poll and All-ACC Team were announced on Monday, August 3, with Notre Dame selected as the preseason favorite.
• A total of 13 players were named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, including 2025 first-team selections Mia Minestrella (Duke), Izzy Engle (Notre Dame), Annabelle Chukwu (Notre Dame) and Caroline Birkel (Stanford).
• Florida State earned the ACC's 27th national championship (24th since the ACC began sponsoring women's soccer) a season ago, bringing the total to 33 national championships among current ACC institutions. No school outside the ACC has won more than two championships.
• The Seminoles defeated Stanford, 1-0, in the 2025 national championship match, marking the second straight year that two ACC teams met for the national title and the third consecutive championship match featuring current ACC members.
• A total of 14 ACC standouts were named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List.
• Valentina Amaral (Wake Forest), Caroline Birkel (Stanford) and Victoria Safradin (Virginia) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Goalkeepers Watch List.
• Cameron Roller (Duke), Morgan Roy (Notre Dame) and Izzi Stratton (North Carolina) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Defenders Watch List.
• Sam Courtwright (Duke), Summer Denigan (North Carolina), Samantha Erbach (Florida State), Charlotte Kohler (Stanford), Y-Lan Nguyen (Stanford), Grace Restovich (Notre Dame) and Amelia Swinarski (Louisville) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Midfielders Watch List.
• Jade Bordeleau (NC State), Annabelle Chukwu (Notre Dame), Katie Shea Collins (Duke), Izzy Engle (Notre Dame), Juju Harris (Clemson), Ashley Henderson (Florida State), Wrianna Hudson (Florida State), Kylie Maxwell (Wake Forest), Mia Minestrella (Duke), Nyanya Touray (Florida State) and Bella Winn (Stanford) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Forwards Watch List.
