CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Four ranked matchups on the west coast headline this week’s schedule inside Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer, as the action begins Thursday, October 10.
No. 1 Duke and No. 2 North Carolina will head west to square off with No. 7 Stanford and No. 17 California on Thursday, October 10, and Sunday, October 13. On Thursday, The Tar Heels will face the Golden Bears at 7 p.m. ET, while the Blue Devils square off with the Cardinal at 10 p.m. ET. Both matches will be featured on ACC Network Extra. On Sunday, October 13, Cal plays host to North Carolina and Stanford welcomes Duke for a pair of 4 p.m. ET kickoffs on ACCNX.
ACC Network will broadcast a pair of matches this week beginning on Thursday when NC State heads to No. 25 Virginia and on Sunday, Syracuse travels to Pitt.
The ACC placed a nation-best nine teams in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, the most by the conference this season, as the league holds the top three spots with Duke (No. 1), North Carolina (No. 2) and Wake Forest (No. 3). Notre Dame is No. 13, California gained a spot to No. 17, Virginia Tech returned to the poll at No. 21, Florida State is No. 22 and Virginia is No. 25. Pitt is currently receiving votes.

Noting ACC Women’s Soccer
• The ACC closed the book on the non-conference portion of the regular season, finishing with a nation-best 93 victories and .792 winning percentage. The league finished with a 15-9-5 (.603) record against peer Power-4 conferences and posted five victories over Top 25 opponents.
• The ACC placed a nation-best nine teams in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, the most by the conference this season. The league has the top three teams in this week's poll as Duke climbed to No. 1 for the first time this season. North Carolina is No. 2 and Wake Forest gained a spot to No. 3 for its highest ranking of the year. Notre Dame is No. 13, California gained a spot to No. 17, Virginia Tech returned to the poll at No. 21, Florida State is No. 22 and Virginia is No. 25. Pitt is currently receiving votes.
• A nation-best eight ACC teams are in the top 25 of the latest RPI rankings, headlined by six teams in the top 15. North Carolina (No. 1) and Wake Forest (No. 2) lead the way, while Duke (No. 8), Stanford (No. 12), Florida State (No. 14) and Virginia (No. 15) closely follow. Pitt is No. 17 and Notre Dame is No. 21.
• Duke sophomore midfielder/forward Mia Oliaro and Wake Forest senior forward Emily Murphy were selected the ACC Co-Offensive Players of the Week and Miami redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Claireese Foley was chosen the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played September 30-October 6.
• Clairesse Foley (Miami), Mia Oliaro (Duke) and Emily Morris (Wake Forest) were named the TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week on Tuesday.
• California's Karlie Lema is tied for the nation lead in goals scored with 13. Notre Dame's Izzy Engle and North Carolina's Kate Faasse are just outside the top 10 tying for 11th with 10 goals.
• Three of the top 10 scoring offenses nationally are in the ACC, as Florida State ranks third in the country averaging 3.27 goals per match. Duke closely follows in fourth at 3.20 goals per match. Notre Dame ranks ninth at 2.73 goals per contest.
• Pitt's Sarah Schupansky leads the nation with 13 assists and a 1.00 assists per match average. Schupansky has posted 103 points (30 goals, 41 assists) for her career, the fourth-highest total among active Division I players.
• Four ACC teams are in top 10 in goal differential. Duke (4th, +28), Florida State (7th, +26), Notre Dame (9th, +25) and Pitt (10th, +24).
