No. 1 BC-No. 2 UNC Clash Highlights Weekend in ACC Women's Lacrosse

– Top-ranked Boston College and No. 2 North Carolina square off on Saturday, April 5, to highlight a big weekend in Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse action.

The Eagles (13-0) and Tar Heels (11-0) are the only remaining undefeated teams in Division I, and they play at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on ESPNU.

With three weeks remaining in conference play, BC and UNC remain the only unbeaten teams at 6-0, with a two-game lead over Clemson, Duke, Stanford, Syracuse and Virginia.

The BC-UNC contest marks the first of six league games on Saturday. Three games start at noon ET: Louisville at No. 9 Virginia, No. 15 Clemson at Virginia Tech and No. 11 Duke at Pitt. No. 10 Stanford plays at No. 21 Notre Dame at 1 p.m. ET and No. 6 Syracuse travels to California at 6 p.m. ET.

Eight ACC women’s lacrosse teams are ranked in the latest IWLCA poll, including four in the top 10, led by BC at No. 1 and UNC at No. 2. They are followed by Syracuse (6), Virginia (9), Stanford (10), Duke (11), Clemson (15) and Notre Dame (21). The ACC has the most teams in the poll among all conferences.

Noting ACC Women's Lacrosse
• In the NCAA's Thursday RPI, ACC teams held five of the top 10 spots, with Boston College (1), North Carolina (2), Stanford (7), Syracuse (8) and Virginia (9). ACC teams claimed nine of the top 32 spots.
• BC and UNC are the only remaining undefeated teams nationally this season. They square off Saturday in Chapel Hill. ESPNU has the television broadcast.
• BC currently owns a nation-best 21-game win streak. UNC has the second-longest streak at 11.
• ACC teams are 64-15 (81.0%) in non-conference play, including 15 wins over ranked foes. That is the most wins and best win percentage of any league.
• Eight ACC teams rank among the top 17 nationally in Strength of Schedule (by opponent win pct.): Syracuse (1), Virginia (6), BC (8), Stanford (10), UNC (12), Notre Dame (14), Louisville (15) and Virginia Tech (17).
• UNC's Chloe Humphrey was named the IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
• Humphrey (Offensive POTW) and UNC's Ellie Traggio (Defensive POTW) also earned ACC weekly honors.
• Four ACC teams rank among the top 25 nationally in scoring: BC (1st, 18.4/game), UNC (2nd, 17.6), Clemson (12th, 15.0) and Stanford (21st, 14.4). 
• BC's Rachel Clark leads the nation in goals (61) and points (77). UNC's Chloe Humphrey is fifth in goals (50).
• Five ACC squads are among the top 20 in scoring defense: UNC (1st, 5.8), BC (2nd, 6.5), Clemson (12th, 8.7), Stanford (14th, 9.0) and Notre Dame (18th, 9.6).
• UNC head coach Jenny Levy was named to the 2025 IWLCA Hall of Fame Class on Feb. 13. Now in her 30th season, she owns a 432-130 record and three national championships during her career at UNC.
• 28 ACC players have been named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List – most of any league.
• 23 ACC women's lacrosse games are scheduled for linear television, including 18 on ACC Network and five on ESPNU. All seven games of the ACC Championship will air on ACC Network.
• This is the 29th season of ACC women's lacrosse. The league expanded to 12 teams this year with the addition of California and Stanford, with a 13th team on the way in 2026 in Florida State's inaugural season.
• ACC teams will play a nine-game conference schedule again this season. The conference tournament runs April 23-27 at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, featuring the top eight teams in the final standings.
• Boston College won its second national championship in program history in 2024. The Eagles rallied from a 6-0 deficit to top reigning champion Northwestern in the title game, 14-13. 
• The ACC has totaled 18 national championships and had at least one school in the national semifinals in 34 straight tournaments and in 38 of the 40 NCAA Tournaments all-time (dating to 1983).
