CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Notre Dame freshman Kruz Schembri earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Fencer of the Week honors, while Fighting Irish senior Josephina Conway notched Women’s Fencer of the Week laurels for the week of January 19-25.
 
MEN’S FENCER OF WEEK – Kruz Schembri, Fr. Epee, Notre Dame (Haimes City, Florida)
• Posted an 18-0 record while competing in the DeCicco Duals.
• Was 3-0 against Chicago, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Lawrence, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
• Led the Notre Dame men to six team wins.
 
WOMEN’S FENCER OF WEEK – Josephina Conway, Sr., Foil/Sabre, Notre Dame (Mishawaka, Indiana)
• Racked up a 12-0 record at the DeCicco Duals.
• Was 3-0 against Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Lawrence and Wisconsin.
• Led the Fighting Irish women to four team wins.
