Stanford, Notre Dame, Wake Forest and Florida State Move On in 2026 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship

CARY, N.C. (theACC.com) – A thrilling day of comebacks and decisive finishes set the stage for the next round of the 2026 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship, as No. 9 seed Stanford, No. 10 seed Notre Dame, No. 12 seed Wake Forest and No. 14 seed Florida State all punched their tickets to Thursday’s third-round matchups.

No. 33 Stanford (12-9, 7-5 ACC) delivered one of the day’s most impressive performances, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to defeat 17th-seeded Virginia Tech (5-17, 1-11 ACC), 4-2. The Cardinal flipped the momentum in singles play, stringing together four wins to complete the comeback and advance. Joining them in the afternoon session, No. 63 Wake Forest (13-12, 4-8 ACC) controlled its matchup against 13th-seeded Syracuse (7-13, 3-9 ACC), earning a 4-1 win behind steady play to secure its spot in the next round.

Under the lights, Florida State (7-16, 2-10 ACC) surged past No. 64 and 11th-seeded Georgia Tech (10-14, 4-8 ACC), 4-2, fueled by a dominant stretch in singles. The Seminoles clinched the match with three consecutive victories on courts four, five and six. No. 44 Notre Dame (17-8, 5-7 ACC) also advanced with a 4-2 win over 15th-seeded Boston College (10-13, 2-10 ACC), using a balanced effort to close out the Eagles and move on.

Third-round action begins Thursday, April 16, at 3:30 p.m. ET, with No. 8 SMU (15-6, 7-5 ACC) facing Stanford and No. 5 Miami (13-6, 8-4 ACC) taking on Wake Forest. Evening matches at 6 p.m. ET feature No. 7 Clemson (17-7, 7-5 ACC) against Notre Dame and No. 6 California (11-6, 8-4 ACC) versus Florida State.

One-day tickets are priced at $15 for adults (ages 18 and older) and $10 for children ages 17 and under and college students with a valid school ID. Admission is free for children 8 and under. A full championship pass for all six days is priced at $30. Tickets may be purchased online at
