CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer season continues Thursday, August 20, with 15 ACC teams back on the pitch for non-conference action.
A pair of top-25 matchups headline this week’s schedule, beginning Thursday when top-ranked Stanford welcomes No. 14 Georgetown at 7 p.m. ET on ACC Network Extra. The Cardinal are coming off a 1-0 victory over Cal Poly, a team they defeated in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. On Sunday, August 23, No. 7 North Carolina hosts No. 5 Michigan State at 1 p.m. ET on ACCN. The Tar Heels enter the week ranked third nationally as a team with 12 goals, while UNC striker Bella Devey leads the country with five goals this season.
Thursday features a pair of matches on linear networks, as North Carolina heads to Arkansas for a 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPNU, while No. 8 Notre Dame visits Nebraska on Big Ten Network at 8 p.m. ET. Sunday’s linear coverage also includes the North Carolina-Michigan State clash on ACCN and No. 3 Florida State’s trip to rival Florida on SEC Network.
ACC teams have posted 21 victories through the first week of the regular season, tied for the most among all conferences. The league has earned one win and two draws in its four ranked matchups.

Noting ACC Women’s Soccer
• The 40th season of ACC Women's Soccer got underway on Wednesday, August 12.
• The ACC continues to lead the nation with eight teams in the weekly IWSOC/United Soccer Coaches Poll, headlined by three teams in the top five and five teams in the top 10.
• The poll includes No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Florida State, No. 7 North Carolina, No. 8 Notre Dame, No. 11 Wake Forest, No. 13 Virginia and No. 24 Clemson. SMU is currently receiving votes.
• The 2026 Preseason ACC Coaches Poll and All-ACC Team were announced on Monday, August 3, with Notre Dame selected as the preseason favorite.
• A total of 13 players were named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, including 2025 first-team selections Mia Minestrella (Duke), Izzy Engle (Notre Dame), Annabelle Chukwu (Notre Dame) and Caroline Birkel (Stanford).
• Florida State earned the ACC's 27th national championship (24th since the ACC began sponsoring women's soccer) a season ago, bringing the total to 33 national championships among current ACC institutions. No school outside the ACC has won more than two championships.
• The Seminoles defeated Stanford, 1-0, in the 2025 national championship match, marking the second straight year that two ACC teams met for the national title and the third consecutive championship match featuring current ACC members.
• Valentina Amaral (Wake Forest), Caroline Birkel (Stanford) and Victoria Safradin (Virginia) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Goalkeepers Watch List.
• Cameron Roller (Duke), Morgan Roy (Notre Dame) and Izzi Stratton (North Carolina) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Defenders Watch List.
• Sam Courtwright (Duke), Summer Denigan (North Carolina), Samantha Erbach (Florida State), Charlotte Kohler (Stanford), Y-Lan Nguyen (Stanford), Grace Restovich (Notre Dame) and Amelia Swinarski (Louisville) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Midfielders Watch List.
• Jade Bordeleau (NC State), Annabelle Chukwu (Notre Dame), Katie Shea Collins (Duke), Izzy Engle (Notre Dame), Juju Harris (Clemson), Ashley Henderson (Florida State), Wrianna Hudson (Florida State), Kylie Maxwell (Wake Forest), Mia Minestrella (Duke), Nyanya Touray (Florida State) and Bella Winn (Stanford) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Forwards Watch List.
